Our group fitness classes are designed to give participants safe, effective workouts in a fun, friendly environment. Some classes require that you call ahead to reserve your spot in the class. Also, if your class requires you to choose a preassigned spot in either studio, you can access the layout for Studio 1 or Studio 2 here.

The group fitness program is coordinated by Kimberly Fox, who has been with the SRC for over 10 years. Class instructors are handpicked for their experience, enthusiasm, and ability to motivate people. Kimberly is always interested in expanding the staff of highly qualified fitness instructors. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

BALANCE & POWER
Focusing on core strength and stability, this class was developed 15 years ago by Stephanie Taddei. Each routine is choreographed to the music with exercises using light weights and one's own body for resistance. An effective, non-jarring workout that is appropriate for every BODY.

BARRE ESSENTIAL
A Pilates-infused transformational workout that quickly and safely reshapes your entire body. The ballet barre and light weights will work your body from the inside out by using techniques that lengthen and strengthen your muscles while spiking your capacity to burn fat. Achieve total body toning!

BEGINNER’S YOGA
Come and try something new. Experience a discipline that has been extensively practiced for thousands of years. The known benefits of yoga include improved flexibility, better balance, and added strength. This class employs a nurturing, non-competitive, instructional and gentle approach designed to help you grow and develop your practice. We will also focus on beneficial breathing techniques and short meditations.

BODYCORE
Train your CORE muscles by using your own body weight, medicine balls, and body bars. Pair this resistance training with balance exercises and cardio intervals, for a total body workout!

BODYPUMP
This 60-minute workout challenges your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors, and your choice of weights will inspire you to get the results you came for FAST!

BODY SCULPT
A body conditioning class designed to target individual muscle groups. Bands, tubes, weights, balls and body bars are used to increase the effectiveness and intensity of the workout. Body sculpting is done in 30-minute and hour-long classes.

BOOTCAMP
A heart-pounding, anaerobic interval and functional training class designed to make you sweat and leave you begging for mercy!

BOXING CONDITIONING
Get strong and heart-healthy with this combination class. Paul's boxing drills—using the heavy bags, jump ropes, and punch mitts—will give you the total-body strength and conditioning workout you've been looking for!

CARDIO COMBO
Looking to change up your workout and get your cardio and muscle work in one jam-packed hour? Then this is the class for you! Incorporating simple steps on the bench, weights, drills, and plenty of reps, this is a workout that always changes and challenges. What have you got to lose except those extra pounds and inches? All fitness levels are welcome!

CARDIO DANCE JAM
An eclectic mix of cardio movement styles such as funk, jazz, and hip-hop come together for a great workout.

CARDIO FUSION
This class fuses explosive cardio power moves with dynamic strength challenges to deliver a total body workout.

CARDIO KICKBOXING
A high-energy class that uses kickboxing punches, kicks, combinations and drills to get your heart pumping and give you a great calorie-burning, cardiovascular, total-body workout. This class is guaranteed to improve your endurance, strength, and balance.

CHANGE IT UP!
Get ready for a sweat-filled journey. This challenging workout flows from station to station and includes quick shifts of strength and explosive power to push your body to the limits. Do you have the drive and determination for change?

CORE BOARD
The Reebok Core Board provides a unique workout experience that will help develop strength, flexibility, balance, stability, mobility and reactive movement with NO IMPACT! You will see an improvement in your overall workouts, athletic performance and daily life. All skill levels are welcome.

CORE VINYASA YOGA
This class focuses on the breath, meditation, and physical endurance through its sequence of stretching, bending and balancing postures. While this practice will increase your awareness of total body alignment, including the spinal column, head and joints, it will also stimulate the circulatory system and other organs. All levels are welcome to this perfect weekend wind down.

DANCE EXPLOSION
Positive energy and fun choreography make this aerobic dance class a calorie-burning blast. Participants can pick up these steps after 2-3 classes. All levels (even beginners) are welcome!

4X4
Your metabolism (aka metabolic rate) determines how many calories your body burns at rest. 4X4 is metabolic training, completing structural and compound exercises with little rest in between in an effort to maximize calorie burn and increase metabolic rate during and after the workout. A crazy calorie burner!

LATIN GROOVES
Join Eddie for a HOT aerobic workout. Every class introduces new choreography. You will learn the basic technique of Latin dance while having fun.

PEDAL & PUMP
This ia an interval-based class with cardio intervals on the bike and weight-training intervals on the floor.

PEDAL & OM (Seasonal, from September through May)
This 90-minute combination class pairs a challenging 45-minute Spinning® session with a 45-minute cool-down and yoga sequence designed to complement your ride. Open up your shoulders, chest and back as you stretch the hips, thighs and calves. The class concludes with a full relaxation. All fitness levels are welcome. Note: The yoga portion of the class beginning at 4:45pm is open to all members who have just completed a cardio warm up of at least 20 minutes. Just set up a mat and join us at 4:45! Terri is certified through Mad Dogg Athletics Inc. to teach the Spinning® program. She is also a 200-hour, Yoga Alliance approved, certified yoga instructor.

PILATES SCULPT
Pilates Sculpt uses Pilates principles and techniques incorporating the exercise ring, light weights and balls to gain maximum strength and definition.

QIGONG & TAI CHI
This ancient practice from China works to bring energy and balance into the body and mind. This combination class of Qigong and Tai Chi is the key to internal and external strength, stamina, coordination, balance and resistance to injury. The fluid movements help to release stress, increase energy levels and improve focus and performance.

SPINNING®
This indoor cycling class offers a comprehensive training program that works the entire body, inside and out. Each spinner can personally decide the proper level of difficulty for any part of the workout.

STABILITY BALL TOTAL BODY SCULPT
This challenging, total-body workout incorporates the core in every exercise. Using your body as resistance, you will improve balance and gain strength due to the combination of concentric and eccentric contractions. For those who have difficulty with the hard surface of the floor, the ball makes exercises more comfortable on the joints and supports the lower back during abdominal work. All fitness levels are welcome.

SUKHA FLOW YOGA
This class is designed to expand your capacity to breathe more fully and deeply and hold poses for a longer time to produce fabulous body-toning effects. This asana practice is followed by a combination of breathing exercises, guided meditation, and restorative poses to quiet the mind and prepare the body for rest.

SUNSET YOGA
Join Terri for an hour of exercise, deep stretching and relaxation. Warm up the body with Sun Salutations, then move into twisting (cleansing) and balancing postures followed by full-body stretching. The class will conclude with guided relaxation and full relaxation (savasana). You will leave feeling recharged, calm, and ready for a light dinner and a great night’s sleep! This class is open to all levels.

SUPERSCULPT
Get ready to change your body with an interval class not to be missed. Using a combination of resistance training and cardio intervals, this class will bring your fitness to a whole new level!

SYLVIA’S YOGA
This hot-style class focuses on proper body alignment to build muscle strength, deepen flexibility and enhance balance. The Monday practice includes standing postures 2 times each. Wednesday is devoted to floor work. Friday the whole sequence comes together, 26 postures, 1 time each. Various forms of yogic breathing are explored. All levels are welcome. The room is heated for class.

3-2-1
This 30-minute, quick-paced interval class moves you through 3 minutes of cardio to burn fat, 2 minutes of resistance training to sculpt the muscles and 1 minute of core work to strengthen your powerhouse. It is sure to leave you energized, stronger and leaner!

TRX BODYBLAST PLUS
The TRX adds a whole new dimension to core training, using bodyweight exercises in a unique way to build functional strength and core stability while improving flexibility and balance. TRX Training is “all core, all the time” while training all major muscle groups. TRX BodyBlast Plus is a circuit training class: TRX fundamentals and technique will be built in to every class to make it appropriate for all fitness levels.

VINYASA YOGA
Vinyasa, meaning “breath-synchronized movement,” is a flowing style of yoga that uses Sun Salutations with other postures to create different sequences throughout the class. By linking the breath with each movement, students will build mental focus along with physical strength, balance and flexibility. It also cleanses and purifies the body through compression, decompression, twisting and balancing postures to benefit the body, mind and spirit. The teacher offers various modifications of postures during class to make it accessible to mixed levels of students.

ZUMBA®
Spice up your workout with this dance-fitness program based on international rhythms and Latin inspirations. The cardio-based dance movements are easy-to-follow steps that include body sculpting to achieve maximum calorie-burning and total body toning—all while having fun, and no dance experience is necessary!


 

GROUP FITNESS POLICIES

Please abide by the following policies. The cooperation of all members will result in a safe, effective and enjoyable workout for everyone.

  1. The warm-up is very important to avoid injury. For safety reasons, you may enter a class only at the discretion of the instructor, if you are more than 10 minutes late.
  2. Be considerate of other members’ exercise space. Do not crowd a member who has arrived in class before you.
  3. Some classes require that you reserve a spot before class begins. Please check the front desk for further information.
  4. Please sign in at the front desk for all group fitness classes prior to class.
  5. Please refrain from wearing all fragrances to any classes.
  6. Please return towels and locker keys to the front desk before you leave the club.
  7. Please return all equipment (weights, bands and bars) to storage spaces.
  8. Please do not wear street shoes in the group fitness studios.
